Some of our positions are AmeriCorps, a domestic version of the Peace Corps. AmeriCorps is an 11-month service member program that offers adults with a high school diploma (or GED) an opportunity to work constructing affordable housing in Bloomington, Indiana. An education award is granted upon completion of a successful term of service and a living allowance, insurance, and housing is provided. The goal for each member is to complete 1700 hours of service with Habitat to help us reach our mission of eliminating poverty housing in Monroe County.

AmeriCorps Volunteer Services Coordinator
In order to fully realize the affiliate's plan of building 12 new homes, increasing the new critical repair and weatherization program, and expanding ReStore's reach in the community, the volunteer force in Monroe County needs to grow by 20% in the next 18 months. The AmeriCorps member leading volunteer coordination will more fully engage students at Indiana University, Bloomington High School North and South, and the local public. They will also work closely with the Engagement Coordinator to create new volunteer cultivation tracks to build leadership among volunteers.
