Indiana students share build experiences
In October, students, faculty and staff from Indiana University in Bloomington joined forces with Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County and Whirlpool, a national partner of Habitat for Humanity International, for the third annual IU/Whirlpool Blitz Build. Whirlpool sponsored the home, which was built by IU volunteers across from their football stadium then moved to its permanent location.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County is launching a weatherization and repair program as “a brand new tool to preserve home ownership,” director Kerry Thomson announced Thursday.
Speaking at the organization’s annual fundraising breakfast, Thomson said one goal of the new weatherization and critical home repair program will be to strengthen the community around a new neighborhood planned by Habitat along the north end of the B-Line Trail.
