Legette-Jack to help with Habitat Women Build

May 13, 2010

Indiana University women’s basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack will be among the 250 women helping to build a Habitat for Humanity home during the annual Habitat Women Build event Friday.

Legette-Jack will join an all-woman volunteer team that will frame the walls of the house. The nine-day building blitz will continue through May 22.

The build will take place in Cedar Chase, the neighborhood that Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County is currently developing. The public can support the build during the week by making donations online at www.monroecountyhabitat.org.

Legette-Jack will build alongside of the future owner of the house, Linda Lentz. Lentz will move into the home with her son, Austin, in June. All Habitat homeowners pay an interest-free mortgage and must invest at least 250 hours of volunteer time building their home and the homes of others.

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County is a nonprofit Christian housing ministry dedicated to building decent, affordable housing in partnership with those in need in Monroe County. Since 1988, the local affiliate has built 96 homes in partnership with local families.
