Donating Materials

Donate furniture, building materials, appliances, and home improvement items
You can donate your appliances, furniture, and other building supplies to Bloomington's Habitat ReStore. See the guidelines below for specific requirements for each item type. If you have an item that is not on the list, please call to make sure we can accept it.

Free  pickup of items is available! Just call 812-331-2660 to arrange a pick-up time.
All donations are offered for sale to the public and proceeds fund Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County.


Appliances
Dishwashers less than 5 years old, clean and in working order. Other appliances 10 years old or less, must be clean and in working order with no missing parts. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation.
Cabinets
Complete units. They must have doors, shelving, display racks, etc.
Doors
They must not have holes, cracks, rot, etc. Please no slab (slat, not paneled) hollow core doors.
Electrical
Electrical parts, wire, plugs, plates and the hardware associated with electrical wiring.
Fans
Complete and in working condition
Flooring material
Carpet without stains or worn areas, vinyl flooring, any amounts of tile.
Furniture
Upholstered furniture must be clean and free of tears.
Hardware
For doors, cabinets, etc.
Lighting
Light fixtures in working condition.
Lumber • Plywood • Sheetrock • Trim
Full and1/2 sheets of plywood, full lengths of lumber, trim not less than 4 feet long. Please, no rot or nails sticking out of lumber.
Mirror • Glass
Please call prior to donating these items.
Paint • Wallcoverings
Full containers of latex paint. We cannot take toxic, hazardous substances, (i.e. pesticides, powders, paint thinners, or other chemicals). Wallpaper is taken in full-unopened rolls.
Pipe • PVC • Metal • Copper
4' and over of any type of pipe, and all supplies and fittings.
Plumbing • Tubs • Sinks • Showers • Commodes
Tubs, sinks and vanities. We accept commodes only if they are in working condition and are the low flush (1.6 gallon) type.
Roofing Material • Gutters • Canales
All types of roofing material such as rolled roofing material, tar, metal roofing, bundles of new shingles, roofing gutter/canale materials in full pieces
Tools
Hand and power tools
Windows • Screens
We accept DOUBLE PANE windows of all types if the glass is intact. Most windows will show use, even if they are newer.
