Melissa works hard as a Monroe County Community School Corporation bus driver. Even though she works hard, she still struggles with the difficult housing conditions in her trailer. "There are problems with the plumbing and the electrical system, and the septic tank overflows," she said. "Habitat is making it possible for us to get ahead. We can't wait. We're all so excited." The whole Hunt family is excited - Elaine, Noah, and even little Bailey will all have a safe, decent place to live because of Builders Blitz.

Melissa appreciates Habitat's "hand-up not a hand-out" approach. "People work hard, but sometimes you can't get ahead," she said. "Habitat is making it possible for us to get ahead. With our own home we won't have to move, and my children will have the home they deserve. Habitat is a perfect option for us."

G&S Homes returns for Builders Blitz again this year, making it a part of every Builders Blitz in Monroe County to date. G&S Homes, founded in 1984 by Mark Sovinski and Jeffrey Gustaitis, has been selected numerous times by the Monroe County Building Association as Builder of the Year (in 1992, 1996, and 2002). But G&S Homes cares about giving back too. Mark said, "(Our involvement in Builders Blitz) sprang from our desire to help out a very worthy cause and some very deserving families, and to use our knowledge and expertise to give back to the community." The Blitz for G&S Homes is an opportunity to "accomplish more than one builder could accomplish alone" and Habitat is thrilled to have them back.

Rubicon Custom Homes, a full service home builder specializing in the design/build custom market, is back with the same team for the 2010 Builders Blitz. Founded in 2004, the company was started as a sister company for Rubicon Investments, but quickly adapted into the custom home market and focused on building smarter for its clients. Owners Michael Eaton and Kevin Powell are looking forward to many aspects of this year's build.   WS Homes, Inc. returns for another year of Builders Blitz, tackling a 4-bedroom home with Rubicon and G&S Homes. WS Homes, Inc. was founded in 2004 as a family business. Aaron Stolberg and Tom Wininger's fathers started Wininger and Stolberg Homes in the 1980s. When the pair closed the company in 2004 Aaron and Tom decided to continue to legacy and start WS Homes.

Now the company builds in Renwick, specializes in paired patio homes, along with developing and building its own portfolio of multi-family units in Bloomington. WS Homes is looking forward to making an impact on a local family. Aaron Stolberg said, "She's a single mother of three kids. (It's) so refreshing to be building a home for a person in need."
